Stories of Hope: Celebrating Our Community Impact

Two volunteers carrying boxes of aid

Every December our field teams gather the year's numbers — wells drilled, meals served, children enrolled — but the numbers never tell the whole story. The whole story is in the villages that threw parties when their pump first flowed, in the mothers who now earn a wage from our kitchens, in the shy boy who read aloud for the first time.

This year, partner communities funded a fifth of every project themselves, in land, labour and local materials. That is the truest measure of impact we know: people who once waited for help now invest their own sweat beside ours.

"We did not receive charity. We built something together — and our children watched us do it."

A village elder told us that at a well opening in October, and we have repeated it at every team meeting since. Next year we take that spirit to forty new villages, with school kitchens attached to every single well project. If you gave, volunteered or simply cheered us on — this celebration belongs to you too.
